Martini Night!
Author: Mriidu Khosla
Ever heard of a pure Martini Night.
Nights not so hard to pull off irrespective of how bad your mixology skills are.
If you have the basics straightened out, your equipments ready and just 3 basic liquor bottles at your disposal, you can have a perfectly splashing martini night with no one craving for anything else. Trust me on this one.
Lets begin with the basics, which are applicable to all bartenders on such nights.

Bar equipments for Martini Night surprisingly include only a Mixing Glass.
Please have Martini glasses lined up well and placed under the bar table. And yes lots of ice cubes.

Garnishes:

Cherries
Lemon peels (twisted)
Olives

Liquor required:

Gin
Dry Vermouth
Sweet Vermouth

Now lets begin with the Martini recipes:

Dry Martini

1.5 ounces gin
0.5 ounce of dry vermouth
3 olives

Fill the Mixing glass with ice cubes and pour in gin and dry vermouth and shake it well. On a toothpick, place 3 olives well and drop it in the Martini glass. After shaking your mixing glass well for a bit pour the drink through the mixing glass. If the mixing glass does not have a strainer then please make sure you pour in no ice cubes in the martini. Fill the glass well with the martini and serve it to your guests.

Sweet Martini

1.5 ounces gin
.5 ounce of sweet vermouth
3 cherries/ lemon peel

Fill the Mixing glass with ice cubes and pour in gin and sweet vermouth and shake it well. Pour the drink through the mixing glass. If the mixing glass does not have a strainer then please make sure you pour in no ice cubes in the martini. Fill the glass well and drop in at least 3 cherries and if served to a guy go in for lemon peels instead of cherries.

Medium Dry Martini

1.5 ounces gin
0.5 ounce of dry vermouth
0.5 ounce of sweet vermouth
3-lemon peel

Fill the Mixing glass with ice cubes and pour in gin, sweet and dry vermouth and shake it well. Pour the drink through the mixing glass. If the mixing glass does not have a strainer then please make sure you pour in no ice cubes in the martini.
Fill the glass well with the martini and drop the lemon peels.

Extra Dry Martini

1.5 ounces gin
1 ounce of dry vermouth

Dirty Martini

1.5 ounces gin
1 ounce of olive juice (right out of your olives can)
3 olives

Fill the Mixing glass with ice cubes and pour in gin and olive juice and shake it well. On a toothpick, place 3 olives well and drop it in the Martini glass. After shaking your mixing glass well for a bit pout the drink through the mixing glass. If the mixing glass does not have a strainer then please make sure you pour in no ice cubes in the martini.
Fill the glass well with the martini and warn your guests that this one is going to be bitter.

Apple Martini (Ladies special)

1.5 ounces gin
0.5 ounce of sweet vermouth
1 ounce of Apple Liquor
3 cherries

Fill the Mixing glass with ice cubes and pour in gin, sweet vermouth, and apple liquor and shake it well. Pour the drink through the mixing glass. If the mixing glass does not have a strainer then please make sure you pour in no ice cubes in the martini.
Fill the glass well and drop at least 3 cherries. Girls simply love this one.

Garnishing tip:

Olives in martini look amazing if placed well on a toothpick and then dipped in the drink. May sure they are poked in right from the center and usually 3 olives go well in any Martini. The same however doesn’t apply to cherries.
